Mastodon and other changes

Hello again! I haven’t posted in a while, but I’ve been at work improving my website and it’s infrastructure. If you haven’t noticed already, I’ve opened a Mastodon account at mastodon.art!

I’ve been at it for a few weeks and I’ve found a great community there! I’m still testing the waters, but for now all links on this website will show my Mastodon profile instead of my Twitter one. In related news, the Discord link has been taken down as I’ve been transitioning to Matrix.

The website itself is going through some stylistic changes, most notably the website width is increasing as well as the size of all artwork. Hopefully this makes it a little bit more artistic and lively instead of barren.

An imprint has been added to clarify the licensing of the site’s content as well as data protection notices. Nothing has changed, but now it’s in a more accessible place. My about page has gotten a facelift as well, so please check it out!

Some small bits of my Hugo theme have been improved:

  • Lists (like Blog and Projects) now display nice previews just like on the front page.
  • Galleries will now blur and filter possibly NSFW content.
  • Icons have been added to the header, taken from Bootstrap.
  • “See Also” sections have been added to pages where possible.

In the future, I want to release some of the website’s source code online, mostly because I want to share the gallery features I’ve developed. Luckily Hugo makes this extremely simple, as all I have to do is share my theme folder. I’ll probably post again whenever that happens!
